Grasshopper Pie

yesterday I was craving something minty, fresh, and cold. I was fresh out of vanilla ice cream, so I decided to whip up a Grasshopper Pie, circa…well, I can’t exactly say from what era Grasshopper Pies originally hail. So I’m just gonna go out on a limb and assign it to the seventies. It’s the decade responsible for most of my favorite foods.

Salted Peanut Chews

Hearty Cabbage and Meatball Soup

Similar in taste to Hungarian-Style Stuffed Cabbage, this hearty soup is made with beef meatballs, chopped cabbage, tomatoes and broad egg noodles. It only takes a little over an hour to prepare, but if you can, make it a day in advance to give the flavors extra time to develop. Served with a green salad, it makes for a satisfying meal.

Crispy Baked Ravioli

Baked ravioli appetizers served with spaghetti sauce or marinara sauce are a guaranteed hit.

Whiskey Meatballs

Cream Cheese Jalpeno Crescent Poppers

So easy.

Super good pop-in-your-mouth-I-want-more kind of appetizer.

Great with an Ice Cold Beer or Margaritas (a must actually).

Sweet, Hot, Creamy, Flaky Yum-a-licious.

And last but not least, pretty darn cute.

Asparagus Tomato & Feta Puff Pastry Tart

Five Spice Glazed Salmon with Sesame Green Beans

Chinese five-spice powder, honey, and soy sauce create a tasty glaze for this simple salmon dish. Broil the green beans and salmon on the same baking sheet, and you have a meal in minutes.

Breakfast Enchiladas

This casserole is a great spin on everyone’s favorite breakfast burritos.

Blackberry Cobbler

This is my favorite version of cobbler. It’s cakey and sweet and can really stand on its own without a creamy accompaniment such as ice cream or whipped cream.
