Christmas Cookie Baking---2022
Margot and Tonya came over on Saturday, 11/19/22
We made butterballs, chocolate meatballs and cornstarch. I had the doughs already made and the girls did the forming and baking. They packaged them up and left a container of each for Joan and I. What a couple of sweethearts!!
All the cookies baked up just fine....I found out that Margot doesn't really like chocolate.
Another recipe that won’t add the regular way (Strawberry Glaze)
1 cup fresh strawberrries, cleaned and mashed.
1 cup sugar
3 Tablespoons cornstarch
3/4 cup water
Optional red food coloring
I doubled this recipe for the June Birthday Birthday cake. 1 1/2 recipes would have been enough.
Mash the berrries and set aside.
In a saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch.
Stir in water and mashed berries.
Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
Add food coloring if necessary.
Cook and stir for 3 minutes until thick.

Lane, Easton and Rhet end of year school awards. (2022)
Joan made chocolate chips. Denielle made rice crispy treats and Joan also made cornstarch cutout in letters of the alphabet. We used icing to hold the cookies onto paper plates that spelled out the kids' names. While we were at it, we made the same ' name plates' for our families.
Regin’s Baby Shower——6/22
I made: chocolate walnut puffs, thumbprints and Christine's.
Joan made: cornstarch cutouts in the shape of baby bottles and three flavors of pizzelles (chocolate, vanilla and anise). Joan also made one of those soft cushions liners that you put the baby in when using a shopping cart.
Christmas Cooking Baking with Maria, Garrett and Gerald Anthony---2021
On Saturday, December 18, Maria and family came over to bake. She brought lots of ingredients, stuff to eat along the way and a 4 section bundt cake pan gift for Joan. She also had a double batch of pre-made Cornstarch Cookies. I had a sponge cake for Petit Fors, Butter Balls and Kpiful dough. Maria had the three colored cakes for her Napolians. As the day went on, I mixed Basic Dough for a fig loaf and Maria really wanted to try Gampa Dalesio's stove top Pizzelle iron.
Christmas Cooking Baking with Joan.....2021
Joan and I began on 12/11/21 and went on for four more days. We needed cookies for our family celebrations, for mailing off to friends around the country (the result of spending Winters in Bradenton FL) and to give to Jeneve for Group Home Christmas parties.

Christmas Cookie Baking on Nov 23, 2021 with Denielle
Each each, Denielle takes the week of Thanksgiving and spends it with us. Lynder comes with her and if the work schedule allows, Tumeca comes too. This year, Tumeca coldn't get the time off.
Each year, we spend some of the time making Christmas cookies for the girls to take back to New York. They share them with friends and co-workers. I think Tumeca shars them with her aunts too.

Baking with Margie and Jessie……November, 2021
Margie and grandson Jessie came from Mississippi for a week. Marge wanted to make some pizzelles on the stove top, not the electric iron.

Christmas Cookies, 2020 (Covid)
Covid 19 had its influence on cookies this year....a minor hiccup compared to the real tragedy.
None of the nieces, nephews or family came ove to bake.
Joan and I started on Dec12 and finished up by the 14th. The goal was to mail off cookies to friends and relatives by the 16th.
Joan made: Chocolate chips, Sugar cookie cut-outs, Linzer tarts, Chocolate and Vanilla checkboard sugar cookies(a recipe from Elaine Welland's gift cookbook) and Multi-colored pinwheels.
