Christmas Cooking Baking with Maria, Garrett and Gerald Anthony---2021

On Saturday, December 18, Maria and family came over to bake. She brought lots of ingredients, stuff to eat along the way and a 4 section bundt cake pan gift for Joan. She also had a double batch of pre-made Cornstarch Cookies. I had a sponge cake for Petit Fors, Butter Balls and Kpiful dough. Maria had the three colored cakes for her Napolians. As the day went on, I mixed Basic Dough for a fig loaf and Maria really wanted to try Gampa Dalesio's stove top Pizzelle iron. I made a batch of dough for that and she and I reminisced as she learned to use (and then borrow) Grampa's iron.

We were going to ice her Napolians, but we had the wrong Merkins melts. I tried to use them, but Maria wisley choose to take the unfinished cookie home and get the correct chocolate to complete the cookie. (A woman had sold her milk chocolate when actually we needed dark chocolate).

Garrett did most of the Cornstarch Cookies.  We made fingeres and then squished them with a fork the way Mom used to. Gerald Anthony did the Butter Balls and then the coconut Petit Fors. Maria did the Kipfuls.

They worked from 10AM until about 2 when Joan made lunch. Garrett and Gerald Anthony left after lunch and Maria and I finished up. Maria did a bang up job of course on dishes and cleaning up at the end of the day.
