Side Dishes

Christmas cookie baking time was the best. She would make us all our favorites. Mine were the cottage cheese cookies and they were made last because they wouldn’t keep as long as the others. I used to love those cookies. Come in from school, go to the back bedroom where she would keep all the cookies in Tupperware containers, grab a handful and sit myself down with a glass of milk. The best, just the best. I never heard the crackle of cellophane to open a bag of cookies. I don’t remember that sound in our house.
