Pecan Pie Squares

Description

A favorite coffee-time treat or simple dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 yellow cake mix, dry
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 egg
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups chopped pecans

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9x13 pan. Set aside 2/3 cup of cake mix.

Combine remaining cake mix, butter and 1egg; mix well. Pat mix in bottom and slightly up sides of prepared pan. Bake for 15-20 minutes-- just until lightly browned. Remove from oven.

Mix reserved 2/3 cup cake mix with 3 eggs, brown sugar, corn syrup and vanilla. Pour filling over hot crust; sprinkle pecans over filling. Bake for an additional 30-35 minutes or till set. Cool and cut into squares.
