Apple Crisp

There isn’t anything quite like warm apple crisp, fresh out of the oven with a large scoop of ice cream served on top and melting.  It’s just about the easiest dessert to make with fresh apples.

Cooking is fun!

Waldorf Lettuce Salad

This is Katie's special salad, we made it for a holiday dinner.

Baked Oatmeal

You may think you're biting into a warm-from-the-oven oatmeal cookie with how good this breakfast treat tastes. It's wonderful served with milk. —

Mini Cheeseburger Pastry Bundles

Petite burgers get jazzed up with melted cheese and puff pastry to create an appetizer everyone will adore. Vary the cheese and ground meat in a multitude of ways for ever-new, go-to hors d'oeuvres.

Cheesy Chicken and Rice Skillet Dinner

This dinner makes me so happy.  It’s pure comfort food in a skillet, so you might want to make it asap for your family.  You are likely to have most of the ingredients in your pantry which is always nice!  I honestly use my cast iron skillet on a weekly basis.  They run about $20 bucks!
This is a nice and thick rice dish that is hearty and rich.  I like to top mine with a few dashes of hot sauce, oh baby it’s good!  Hope you enjoy friends

Tuscan Burgers with Prosciutto and Fontina

This burger has a delicious combination of ingredients with a Tuscan flair. We combined the ground beef with crumbled gorgonzola cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh garlic and parsley and a bit of balsamic vinegar. We served the burgers on bakery-style buns with a slice of tomato, melted fontina and a slice of prosciutto. Pickled sweet banana peppers and parmesan-oregano dusted potato chips replace more traditional pickles and french fries.

Homemade Coffee Creamer

You get something that is deliciously sweet and creamy that is made from real ingredients. Yes, it uses sweetened condensed milk which is processed, but at least it’s made from dairy! And I won’t lie to you by telling you that it is an exact substitute for the flavored creamers that you can buy, but it is a good alternative. I use it every day now and keep extra cans of sweetened condensed milk lying around for emergencies. I always use just regular sweetened condensed milk and half-and-half. I find that the half-and-half gives the creamer a thicker consistency. If you use skim milk it will be very runny and just not taste as good… but yes, you will certainly save in those calories. And word to the wise- find a nice glass container or jar that you can store this in. It gets very sticky from any drips, and it settles while it sits in the fridge, so it always need to be shaken or stirred before using (I always whisk it back up, shaking doesn’t get everything recombined as well).

Butterscotch Pudding Triple Chip Cookies

The butterscotch pudding adds the perfect flavor to these cookies. My chocolate drawer was getting too full, I couldn’t shut it, so I decided to do some cleaning and throw in chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and butterscotch chips. The triple threat of chips makes these cookies insanely good! Don’t hold back, make sure you add in the triple threat of chips!

Hot and Spicy Italian Drip Beef

This is a yummy play on the old drip beef recipe my friend  shared with me years ago, and I made it last week as I was using up some pantry items as part of my pantry purging process.
